Обсуждение за круглым столом альтернативных сценариев, предполагающее принятие согласованных решений относительно способов разрешения возникающих проблем, информационного обмена, ответственности за принятие решений и т.д. Как правило, такое обсуждение проходит с участием ведущего и команды, обслуживающей объект, или обеспечивающей функциональную подготовку. Его основная цель — подтвердить внутрикомандное распределение ролей и установить необходимые взаимодействия. Такие учения проводятся на этапе планирования и затрагивают определенные аспекты планирования.

Round-table discussion exercise, typically involving a facilitator and a venue or functional team, discussing "what if" scenarios and agreeing the response to various issues, communications paths, decision-making responsibilities, actual outcomes, etc. The primary purpose is to confirm venue or functional team role definitions and the necessary interactions. Tabletops take place throughout the planning process in relation to specific planning activities
